Our Work

Blue School Council

Requirement: To create a website that would inform visitors of the council's projects and achievements. Also required was a secured area where users could log in from home, and conduct or take part in surveys and questionnaires; a blog where teams could announce their achievements, and other students could comment on them; files, such as word documents, or PowerPoint presentations, needed to be uploaded or downloaded from the site, but kept securely away from unknown visitors.

Our Work: This was not a small project, and which required some fairly serious coding at times, especially to set up the users login, and file transfers. We wrote this site from the ground up, using Ajax to make interaction quicker, and PHP to do the heavy lifting behind the scenes. The system created is highly expandable as students request new features and updates to current features.

The colour scheme was chosen in co-operation with students, and several designs were created in the process of creating the finished product. The speed of connection at the school meant no bandwidth-heavy pictures were possible, creating the challenge of making the site look great while not making students wait too long for it to load.

BIT (Business Improvement Techniques)

Requirement: This site was to be a simple page that explained the company to someone who was interested, and acted as a login portal into their main website.

The customer had a very clear idea of the design, and wanted some interactivity, so we decided to build the site using Adobe Flash. The customer provided all media content (text and images).

Our Work: Work was slower than we hoped, due to the need for constant communication between the website builder and the client. Text and images were supplied promptly, but they didn't fully 'fit' in the rigid design that Flash provided. Small teething issues kept the project running slowly. The end result, however, is a smooth and seamless website, zero load times between pages, and small but effective animations that keep the reader alert and interested, all thanks to the power of Flash.

TonySeymour.com and Cam Valley Morris Men

Requirement: One of our first projects, this pair of sites were built to show photos and videos, and some simple pages. The project would contain a few webpages, with content supplied by the customer.

Our Work: We decided to create this site from the ground up, using PHP to power a simple site. The content is highly flexible and can be updated by the customer. We designed a simple, easy-to-use and fast-to-load picture viewer, which also allows the customer to upload his own photos, with the server automatically re-sizing and compressing them to improve load times.
